Great place for a trip! The Museum of the Slovak Village offers an authentic glimpse into the lives of our ancestors. Beautifully preserved wooden houses, traditional crafts, and a lovely atmosphere. Perfect for a walk and learning about history. Highly recommend!

Very interesting museum with picturesque houses and other type of buildings. Area is divided per Slovakian regions and offers full immersion in the history. Opening hours are changing per seasons so check them in advance via Internet. There are also discounts for senior and disabled people. And the ticket includes the guided tour as well.

This Museum is the largest ethnological open-air exhibition in Slovakia. You would see four different regions with traditional rustic folk architecture, housing from the latter half of the 19th and first half of the 20th centuries. If you want to see everything you need at least 3 hours. Parking is free.

I can imagine that this place must look great in summer. I recommend to go for a commented tour with some of the ladies working at the place. No need to book anything, just wait for the tour to start when you get to the museum. With explanation of how the things worked back then and with some background stories, the visit is much more interesting than just looking around. Most of the tour or walk will happen outside, but some of the houses are open and you can peak in. Since the place has various opening hours during different months, check this information in advance. The tickets can be purchases at the place. It's possible to pay with a card, but the payment terminal is not always catching signal, so there might be a problem with that, we were told.

Very delightful experience, we didn’t expected much but we have seen and learned a lot. Every second hour there is a guided tour around the museum, I really suggest to take it. Our guide today was young lady with interesting fashion choices, but nevertheless she is really knowledgeable and could answer any of ours questions. Kudos to her. By accident we were able to see a theater piece “Gazdina Roba” set in museum background. This was a cherry on the top. I was amazed with performance of all actors and how scenes were integrated in museum locations. Only letdown is that there is no place to eat, no restaurant, not even a kiosk or snack available.
